Feeling a quake from the fortieth floor ( To a friend on the fortieth floor)

24 Aug

Something  shook.

I think it was my heart

Filled with the morning rush

And kisses sweet of last night

Lin     ger          ing.

A trembling glass, a bed that walks,

Furniture coming to life, the sky through the windows.

I need to jump, to catch a breath

the last? in my lungs.

The phone, it vibrates,

My heart, it palpitates,

The view is now a bird’s eye view

Gone cold.

Seagulls when do you land?
