Versatile Blogger Award

01 Dec

I’m relatively new to the blogosphere and I love being on board. Thank you Lauren from http://lscotthoughts.com/ for nominating me.

Awards like these are blogonours that mean a great deal. When I started out on this blog, I had many doubts- do people read poetry? is it right to put up your work online? how do you promote your blog? why do you need to promote your blog when poetry is not being marketed in a big way yet? should a poet promote?,etc

I got some responses like no big deal, it’s a platform, don’t worry about plagiarism, what can possibly go wrong with poetry online, etc.

It’s more than that. I think my fellow bloggers will agree that they sometimes like to look at their own blogs, just scan through the posts and get this wonderful chapter feel. I think this is the medium for writers- with the possibility for instant comments and interactions, and  the possibility of meeting like minded people from all over the world.

Once you are nominated you have a couple of rules to follow if you accept.

  • Nominate 15 fellow bloggers.
  • Inform the bloggers of their nomination
  • Share 7 random things about yourself.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.
  • Add the Versatile Blogger Award pic on your blog post.

Seven random me-things

One….Obsessive reader of fiction, poetry, non fiction, print, blog, and now twitter links

Two….Not a television person, now am starting to realize the beauty of prose on screen.

Three…Look at the keyboard while typing…look at the screen much later

Four…Wake up early.

Five…Fascinated by twins.

Six…Am a quiet sort.

Seven…Try to read poems to my distracted twins(I’ve read somewhere that you can subtly influence children in their reading taste!) with little success.

Neel, two things. Firstly, thank you once again for nominating me! And secondly, please persist with reading to your children – they may not appreciate it now, but it will be one of the most precious gifts you ever give them!

neelthemuse, I discovered you through Caddo Veil, whom you nominated for a versatil blogger award. I myself was nominated by http://zendictive.wordpress.com almost a month ago. Caddo says you are an English teacher; therefore, I am hoping you will visit my own blog at http://granbee.wordpress.com and be willing to provide some helpful feedback. Right now, I am just writing again everyday after a 20+ year period of self-effacement. I am not trying at all to worry so much about the appearance of my blog, just working on my writing.
